Set up Hosted Isomux#

This is the Hosted Isomux guide. To check if this is the right hosting setup for you, check the decision diagram.

Hosted Isomux is the paid option. You need a Google account to sign in, a payment method, and an AI provider account. The service supplies the server and office address. You do not need to buy a domain or install Isomux on your computer.

Open Hosted Isomux and select Sign in.
Select Continue with Google and complete sign-in.
Select Set one up. Enter an office name and check the address preview. The address cannot be changed after setup.
Choose a plan. Check the current price and resources in the form before continuing. Hosting does not include AI provider usage.

Save the administrator key and pay#

The browser creates a server administrator SSH key. Download or copy the private key and save it somewhere only you can access. This key can administer the whole server. Keep it outside the office, where agents cannot read it.

Select I saved it, review the linked terms and policies, and select Continue to payment. Complete payment on Stripe's checkout page and return to the Hosted Isomux dashboard.

Open the office#

The dashboard shows setup progress. Wait until the office is serving, then select Get my owner invite. Open the sign-in link in the browser profile you will use for the office. The link works once and expires after five minutes; request another if necessary.

Make sure the office opens in that browser. Return to the dashboard, confirm that the office is open, and select Remove Hosted Isomux Provisioning access. The dashboard reports the result. After access is removed, the provisioning service cannot create another owner invite.

Connect a provider and send a message#

In the office, open Settings → You → Individual connections.

For Claude or Codex, select the provider's sign-in control and complete the instructions shown. If Isomux asks to install the Claude CLI, complete that step first. Codex is bundled with Isomux.
For OpenCode, open or create an OpenCode agent and choose a model. Its model picker offers Free, Pay-as-you-go, and Subscription options. A Free model provides a starting path without a paid provider connection.
For a provider API key, add its environment variable in Individual connections: ANTHROPIC_API_KEY, OPENAI_API_KEY, or OPENCODE_API_KEY, as applicable.

Open an agent that uses the connected provider and send a short message. A reply confirms that the office can use your provider account. Provider charges and subscription limits are separate from hosting.

For Claude through Amazon Bedrock or another connection method, use the provider reference.

Add people and devices#

For another device of your own, open Settings → You → Sign-in links and create a device link. Open it on that device.

To invite another person, open Settings → Office → Invites, enter their name, select a role and room access, and issue an invite. Send the link privately. Only invite people you trust: members and their agents can run commands on the server with the office's operating-system permissions.

On iPhone, open the office in Safari and select Share → Add to Home Screen. On Android, open the HTTPS office address in Chrome and use its install option.

Return to the office#

Bookmark the office address. You can also sign in to the Hosted Isomux dashboard and open the office from its card. Use the office's device links when adding another browser or phone.

The dashboard holds billing and cancellation controls. Your administrator SSH key is needed for server administration and repair; Isomux agents and the built-in terminal do not have root access.

Update the office#

When the office header reports a new release, the owner can open the Updates pane and apply it. Finish active agent work first: the update restarts the office. Keep the pane open through the restart, then refresh when it offers. If the new version cannot start, the updater restores the previous code and state.

Backups#

Isomux stores seven daily backups of ~/.isomux/ in the server's backup directory on the same disk as the office, so copy them elsewhere if you need protection from server loss. Current backup health and the exact directory are at GET /api/backup/status.
